Dedicated to truly mastering layered composite veneers

Four days of intense hands on training

What is Iridescent?

I push the boundaries of what is possible with layered composite veneers. Iridescent is singularly focused on teaching you my process, from the smile design to the ultra-fine layering of composite to produce truly lifelike and naturally beautiful layered composite veneers. I look to create a counterculture in cosmetic dentistry, pouring my passion into refining the natural beauty of teeth, not masking it. Press play to learn more…

Three important things to know before applying:

This course is intensely challenging and intensely rewarding. The process I teach is at the highest end of practical skill, and will be challenging to learn, but the results speak for themselves.

This is not an induction course.

It is recommended that you have placed a minimum of ten 3-3 monoshade composite veneer cases before considering applying to this course. Anyone can apply, but I truly feel clinicians with no prior composite veneer experience will not benefit from this course.

My process is complex.

For a fully layered composite veneer case covering ten teeth I take a total of 2.5 clinical days. Ask yourself, are you in a position to be able to deliver this level of clinical dentistry?

Are you using magnification?

If you are not using a minimum of 5x magnification in your clinical dentistry, you will struggle to replicate the techniques taught. I prefer 8x magnification or above.

What do I need to bring to the course?

Loupes are mandatory for this course. The minimum advisable magnification is 5x.

An iPad and Apple Pencil is highly recommended for the smile design segment

STL Scans in occlusion + full photographic case writeup for planning to be submitted in advance of course.
Best case submission judged by Charles will be chosen for design in advance of the course and used for teaching the principals of smile design.

Course Breakdown

Each cohort will run from a Wednesday to a Saturday, starting at 09:00 and finishing at 17:00.

Day 1 – The theory of smile design

Smile design in real time on one of your own cases. photography, case planning, smile sketching, Digital Smile Design, 3D printing and palatal stent fabrication, reviewing pink aesthetics, material selection equipment review, occlusal planning and placement of palatal shells using our recently designed palatal stent.

A masterclass in the process of anterior composite placement, tooth preparation, isolation, bonding, shaping, layering and creation of your first ten unit case on a normal typodont. We will explore the nuances behind each individual tooth and the framework of predictably re-creating this anatomy in your future cases.

Uniquely beautiful teeth can only be created when the tooth planes and line angles exist in exactly the right positions. Here we will refine the anatomy, surface texture and polish to the point of perfection. Focusing on every detail that goes into making a tooth appear lifelike. You will finish your first ten unit case today to a world class standard and begin placement on the next case, choosing either restoration of attrition, or a space closure case.

The final day will involve independent placing, finishing and polishing of your previous case. I highly encourage photographing and documentation your work. The day will close with a review of each individual case with targeted feedback and guidance for progression with your layering beyond the course.
